Minimum system requirements to run Challenger offline on Macintosh

NOTICE:  CDs or DVDs of Challenger products that are version 8.1 or higher are available for the Mac. Call 1.800.676.0822 for more details.

Operating Systems: 

  • OS 9 or OS X for online access.
  • OS X 10.5 or later for Mac installer packages delivered on CDs, DVDs, or USBs.
  • 1 GB RAM required

Hard Disk Free Space Required: 

  • Run from CD-ROM: 1MB with CD-ROM
  • Full Installation: Amount varies with each product

HTML Browser: 

  • Netscape Navigator 7.0.1 or later
  • Mozilla Firefox 1.x or later
  • Safari 3 or later

Java VM and Java Browser Plug-in: Java plugins for Mac OS Lion and Mac OS Leopard are installed automatically as part of Apple's Software Update feature. It does not come automatically with Mac OS Lion but is available in Apple Software Update. If you are a Mac OS Lion customer and do not have a Java plugin, you will be prompted to download and install it the first time you run a Challenger program.

Miscellaneous Software: 

  • Macromedia Flash 9 player or later which may be downloaded from www.adobe.com.
  • A media player* with codecs for ".mp3" audio and ".mpg" MPEG1 video/audio

The preferred media player for the MPEG movies is QuickTime, which is available as a free download from www.quicktime.com.
