How do I determine what version of the Java Plug-in I have on my PC?

  1. Left-click the start button on your desktop, go to Control Panel.
  2. Windows XP: double-click on Add Remove Programs. Once the programs have populated, scroll down the list. If you See Java or Sun Java, you have Java installed. The version will be listed next to the title. Close the Control Panel to exit.
  3. Windows Vista, Windows 7: Left-click the start button, go to Control Panel, then Programs or Programs and Features. After the list has populated, scroll down the list. If you see Java, you have it installed. The version will be listed next to the title. Close the Control Panel to exit.
